The new HTC Sensation XL is a direct upgrade to the recently released HTC Sensation XE and is almost an identical model to the Windows powered HTC Titan phone but running the Android operating system.
The original HTC Sensation was a massive success for the manufacturer and the new XE edition further improved in many areas including a larger, faster dual core processor and the inclusion of Beats Audio software for a far higher quality listening experience of music and sound.
The recently announced HTC Sensation XL takes this even further with a massive 4.7 inch touch screen display and also offers the Beats Audio music software, the main camera on the reverse of the phone is the same 8.0 mega pixel sensor found on both the original HTC Sensation and the recent Sensation XE models and there is also a further secondary 1.3 mega pixel camera on the front of the phone for video calling.
Running on a fast 1.5GHz processing chip with 768MB of RAM and an internal flash memory of 16GB (non expandable) the new Sensation XE is not only a big phone but a powerful device.
Utilising the latest Android 2.3 operating system the phone offers connectivity options such as 3.5G network support, Wi-Fi and GPS plus access to the huge Android Market where there are now thousands of new applications for users to download.
Taking on the might of the new Samsung Galaxy Note the Sensation XL does not quite compete although is a far more aesthetically pleasing looking handset with rounded corners and a slim frame.
This new phone is more aimed at the in-house HTC Titan which is so similar that one of the few differences in specifications is as small as the inclusion of a dual LED flash on the Sensation XL, however for lovers of the Windows Phone operating software this is a very small oversight that will not hinder their purchase.
The HTC Sensation XL has just had prices released in the UK as a SIM free phone, this means it is sold simply as a boxed item with no network branding or locks, deals from the UK networks are yet to be confirmed but with a SIM free price of £519.00 it is likely to cost upwards of £35 per month line rental in order to receive a free phone.
So far only a white edition of the new Sensation XL has been made available to pre-order in the UK, there is likely to be a darker, grey or black model released to join it sometime soon in line with the previous colour schemes of the HTC Sensation.
