HTC is world known for its feature rich and well researched Android smartphones. Recently HTC launched a new smartphone with the name HTC Explorer. This new smartphone is an entry level Android smartphone which is average in specifications but very feature rich. Currently HTC explorer is only available in South Asian countries like India, Thailand, Malaysia. HTC has no plan to launch this entry level phone in US market. Probably a similar Android smartphone with few enhancements will be launched in US in near future.

This mobile has everything you can think of, it has features which are required by first time Android users. Mobile is small enough to go very easily in your pocket.Explorer has a 3.2 inch screen. This screen is multi-touch HVGA screen. Screen is vibrant and has a resolution of 320x480 pixels. HTC explorer runs on a 600 MHz processor which is just enough to run all its application along with latest Android 2.3.5. HTC Explorer is probably first such entry level smartphone which runs on 600 MHZ processor and still has Gingerbread as its operating system.

Mobile has 3 mega pixel camera which can take pretty decent photographs. Camera has no LED flash. This camera can also take videos. Video quality of this camera is average. HTC Explorer does not has a secondary camera.

This device runs on Gingerbread which has HTC sense 3.5 user interfaces. HTC sense UI is latest and best till date. Mobiles home screen is uncluttered and it has all the best functionality of HTC sense.

Explorer is a 3G mobile and it can support download and upload speeds of 14.4 mbps and 5.5 mbps respectively. Besides 3G data connectivity, this device also has class 12 GPRS and class 12 EDGE. HTC Explorer also has Bluetooth 3.0 and it supports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n. One can also make this device act as a WiFi hotspot. This means you can share your 3G internet with other wifi devices.

Mobile build quality is very good given its low price. It has a rubberized back panel which also has some polished metal part with HTC logo on it. It has 512 MB of ROM and 384 MB of RAM. Device also has 90 MB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 32 GB with the help of external microSD card.

HTC Explorer has tons of regional features and is most suitable for college going crowd. This mobile has good build quality and has some real nice features. If you think about price, features and the service that HTC gives to its customers; this smartphone is a steal.
